Our Earthmoving and Logging Services

A.K. Torrens offers mostly wet hire of our 12 tonne track mounted excavator, 20 tonne track mounted excavator, track loader, posi track skid steer loader and wheeled skid steer loader. 

Additional machines and attachments available for hire include our 10 metre tipper, drop deck trailer, tractor, 6 metre slasher, mulcher and pruning saw. 

Safety is guaranteed with our qualified operators and regularly serviced equipment.

We use skid steer mounted mulching attachments capable of mulching large trees, timber waste stumps, and any unwanted weeds, leaves or other organic material. 

Mulching leaves a mulch layer on the ground preventing erosion and retaining moisture in the soil. 

Mulching is also used to maintain fire breaks, clear undergrowth to create fire control breaks around fences, builds and assets on properties.

Once mounted on a loader, our hydraulically operated pruning saw with a 2 metre cut is capable of pruning an orchards side, top and undercut. 

Pruning is also used to prune trees near boundaries, around buildings and along roadways to allow clear sight and travel.

Timber harvesting is another term for logging. Logging is the process of cutting and skidding trees, processing the trees on-site in preparation to load the trees onto trucks, and then transporting the logs to the desired location. 

A.K. Torrens understand and control all logging activity of forests and trees.

A.K. Torrens specialise in rural earthmoving which is the process of clearing, moving and adding land material on rural construction sites. 

The rural construction projects that may require earthmoving include farming, roads, railway tracks, causeways, driveways, dams as well as commercial and residential buildings.

Civil farming is a process of agriculture that cultivates plants and livestock. 

A.K. Torrens conduct civil farming for surplus production of domesticated food that enables people to reside in cities.
